I know I know - it is supposed to rain in the spring. And it is! I am a person of mixed emotions at this point. I actually love rainy days. They seem to have a peace all their own - and a beauty. BUT, can't ride my motorcycle on rainy days (well, I CAN but I choose not to!). Anyway, I was posting to a class I'm taking and was bemoaning that I couldn't get out and take some pictures and capture the loveliness of this rainy day. Half way through the post I decided "Heck yeh I can!" So I went to the porch and donned my "duck" shoes (Those rubber ones for gardening - mine are bright yellow and DH has named them duck shoes) and took my camera tucked up under my shirt to protect it as much as possible from the rain. I took some shots of the rain droplets all in a row on a branch of the linden tree outside my studio window. Then I noticed rain dripping like mad off the evergreens. I snapped a bazillion (at least) pictures in rapid succession to try to catch the water dripping off the needles. I got several but need a faster shutter speed to get them clearly. (I KNEW I should have taken that introductory course on the care and operation of my new camera!!!) Anyway, I then moved into the front yard and captured a few more pictures. All these are in an album to the right named "Rainy Day 4-08". The albums are in alphabetical order so you should be able to find it. Hope you enjoy them! |
