MY CREATIVE JOURNEY - Week 11 By Kelly

OK, so I know it is already Friday.  It has been a whirlwind of a week.  I'm only just now about to draw my card for this week.  Maybe it will be one that will spill over into next week, too????

And the card is -------- Add Comfort

 

The idea is to have things around you that are comfortable to you while you are creating.... special cup of tea, favorite color pens, etc.  This makes the creative journey more homey and comfortable and enjoyable. 

 

Well, this is one that I think will be ongoing so it is a good one to pick for a very short week!!  My most comfortable thing is my studio as a whole.  I just walk in the door and the aroma settles me and helps me focus.  It is my refuge and haven.  Not even sure what the aroma is - dyed fabrics, paints, oils, soap, et.c or maybe all of it together.  Doesn't matter.  It just is.

 

I have my tea station where I keep my tea paraphenalia.  My electric tea pot, my loose tea, my raw unprocessed honey, my special little coaster sent to me by a friend.  All bring a smile and peace and settled feeling to my heart and mind.

 

Then I have my favorite "toys".  My pigma pens and my paints are comfortable but then just about everything in here is.  The only exception is perhaps a few things I have that I have never used.  Those aren't "comfortable" yet.  My journals are comfortable.  I feel at home with them.

 

So, for the next few days I plan on noticing just how many things in my studio bring me comfort and peace and inspiration.
