LAST FIG????

By Kelly

Well, I think I have all the stages of the little fig.  Nothing left but to make a label for the back of the quilt in the shape of a fig newton!!  That was DH's idea then my Surfacing teacher said the same thing!!!  Scarey!!!

While this is the last fig for this particular quilt...I doubt it is the last fig.  I already have one in mind that I want to do sometime next week.  I'm probably done for the weekend....our granddaughter is coming over and when she is here - she is the center of the universe!  (our choice - she is only 5 mos old.)

OK, I mixed brown, ochre and white Neopaque paints to get the color I wanted. Then I cut out a piece of a Tyvek painter's coverall and painted it.  When the paint was dry I melted the Tyvek with a heat gun.  I cut out the shapes I needed and did a broken zigzag stitch to quilt them.  Then I contour quilted the piece and added black buttons for the dried fig stems.

Really nice Kelly, I like the colours and textures on this one. It'll be interesting to see how your quilt turns out.
